Video is widely used by organisations to get their message across, but it must be eye-catching, pertinent and memorable. Tim Cuff has been producing feature videos for corporate clients and news videos for the New Zealand Herald since 2011.

There is no better training ground in complete package video production than working in news. The footage must be shot in reportage style and audio correctly recorded, all the while endevouring to create a structure for the piece as the event develops. Editing must be completed in hours - not days or weeks - before the finished video is uploaded and put online. It's high pressure work, and often done on location.

These techniques transfer well to corporate video, especially in terms of shooting quickly and efficiently. For web-based video the importance of making every shot strong and bold cannot be underestimated, and that's where Tim's skills as a stills photographer are evident. As an experienced feature writer he also understands how a compelling narrative is essential to hold the eye of the viewer.
