Tim takes the pictures. Widely travelled, hugely experienced, award-winning and still - after over thirty years - loving his job. Formal training in art and documentary photography preceded three decades in photojournalism, working for some major players in news and features (The Sunday Times, BBC, New Zealand Herald). Outstanding national publications such as North & South and New Zealand Geographic are clients, and in the Nelson Marlborough region top businesses and local government regularly commission his services. As well as producing high calibre stills Tim also shoots video and contributes writing to accompany photo-essays.
Fiona writes the words. Equally widely travelled, and equally vastly experienced, Fiona - who has a Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism from Cardiff University - has been delving into the lives of her subjects with an unequalled sense of compassion and tireless curiosity for nearly 30 years. Her feature writing has taken her around the globe twice, contributing to august publications including The Sunday Times, The Independent, The Times and Woman magazine. Soon after emigrating to New Zealand in 2006 she began working for the award-winning North & South magazine, as well as contributing features for, among others, New Zealand Geographic, AA Directions, and Mindfood magazines. She also has skills in editing and designing magazines. Corporate clients include Sealord and Port Nelson.
The couple and their two teenagers live in sun-drenched Nelson, close to the geographical centre of New Zealand. Wellington is just a short hop over Cook Strait, and both Auckland and Christchurch are around an hour flight.
